This restaurant has a great feel to it. Love the atmosphere. Food was fresh and tasty. Attentive server. Will come back!

Came in Monday night starving and left with a happy tummy! I got the Flat Iron Steak served with potatoes, squash, corn and feta. It was sooo good, I almost came in the next day to get it again! The service was quick and attentive, I wish I caught our server's name, she was very knowledgeable and sweet. My friend got the black bean burger and sweet potato fries, she enjoyed both! I got an espresso martini, it was a little different than I'm used to, like almost tasted like hazelnut, but it was good! My friend got a fruit infused (pineapple and strawberry I believe) vodka drink that she enjoyed! Thank you for a wonderful experience, I'll definitely be back!

Order the carrot cake. That's it. That's my review. You won't be disappointed. No, but really. Service is great, fast and responsive. I enjoy many items here, but the salmon salad is my absolute favorite. I love eating and working here. Toast is good! Jam is even better. They have QR codes on the table so you can order once you sit down (see: carrot cake). But the folks at the counter are always helpful and easy to order. Adjoined is the Berkeley Bar. Great spot for manhattans and margaritas. Free WiFi and fun people-spotting.

The last time I went to Cafe Bernardo for breakfast was 4+ years ago and I was not very impressed so haven't returned since. However, a last minute breakfast date landed me here on April 7th. Now, you can get seated and order from your table versus ordering at the register and sitting after. It was not packed, but it was fairly busy for 9am on a Sunday. The menu had a good amount of variety: multiple egg dishes and a few pancake/waffle/oatmeal options. I ordered the chicken sausage scramble and a latte. The scramble was so good, extremely fresh and flavorful. It also came with a side of sourdough toast and blackberry jam - the jam was to die for. I wish they sold it separate so I could take a container home! I was impressed overall, the food was very good. Definitely worth the try if you're in the area!

Third Café Bernardo location that I've been to now. First it was R St for lunch, then here at the Pavilions for breakfast and most recently the Capital location for dinner & drinks.. For the Pavilions location, it was my first opportunity to have Café Bernardo's brunch menu. I came here one weekend morning with my girlfriend, and we ordered several things to start. And then we're still a little hungry and order dessert. And we decided to enjoy our meals out on I'm the outdoor patio area. Main brunch courses: *Bernardo Benedict w/smoked ham and herbed potatoes *Brioche French Toast w/sliced banana, pecans, & pure maple syrup (v) *Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Ham Dessert: *House-Made Granola, Organic Yogurt, & Berries (v) Overall: Really good menu overall; for both breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Would definitely come back to this particular spot.

I came here after my pure barre team event and it was packed! My team got breakfast and I ordered the avocado toast and a chai tea latte. It was standard and nothing special. The interior is quaint and aesthetic. Service was nice and the tables were cleared quickly after people left. We grabbed some pastries to go but they looked better than they tasted.
